Going Viral: Number 1, and 2, and 3 on Google in 8 Days with 800Cart

We've asked the question many times and supplied the answer in the next sentence: what's better than being #1 on Google? Why, being #1, #2, and #3 (or more) on Google!

And that's just exactly what happened recently to an 800Cart merchant in only 8 days when they turned on SEO/Suggestive Sale in the 800Cart Control Panel. And that with less than 20 products in their entire product line (usually more is better).

And it wasn't that hard on the merchant: 1 email to support@cartsupport.com asking for help with the feature and he was rolling. Ten minutes after we got his email, we had finished adjustments to his cart control panel SEO. And it actually took longer to write a reply with a couple of easy suggestions than it took to make the simple changes to his cart!

Eight days later, his products were #1, #2, and #3 on Google. And we frequently do better with other merchants as mentioned in past articles.

Of course, we have always offered a free trial for our 800Cart instant ecommerce at www.800Cart.com (click 'Sign Up') . Now, if you turn on SEO before your free trial ends, it's entirely possible that you will be at the top of Google before your free trial ends.

Free Clicks Are Better Than Paid Clicks. How-To.

Whether you have a big ad clicks budget or not, earning free clicks with an advanced SEO strategy is key to your online success. And it's not just because it saves you money on your visitor marketing budget.

Check around with your friends and associates: you probably know quite a few people who will tell you that they never click on a sponsored link - they deliberately avoid sponsored link and click on natural links only. You may even be one of these people yourself. But that's not the real reason we contend that natural (or free) links are much better for your business.

The reason is relevance. We tend to use one style of language when promoting our business and another when describing our products. If it's your product descriptions rather than generic language about how great your company is that's driving your search engine strategy, then you have taken a positive step in the right direction.

Using the SEO built-in to 800Cart automatically focuses on bringing your product descriptions and links to your web site to the very top of the search engines - when this is done properly, you will no longer be satisfied with simply having the #1 link at the top of the search engine listings - you will regard it as more normal that you have 4 to 6 links in the top 10 - dominating the search engines - as you should if your web site and your products are promoted properly.
<a href=www.800cart.com>
Find out more about the advanced SEO capabilities that are yours when you use the 800Cart secure, professional shopping cart</a>. When you find links to your site dominating the search engines with 4 to 6 - or even 7 or 8 - of the top 10 listings, you'll know you made the right choice, and you will have the sales to prove it!

Better Than #1 on Google: 4 of the First 10! Two Quick, SUCCESSFUL Case Studies

Better Than #1 on Google: 4 of the First 10! Two Quick, SUCCESSFUL Case Studies

What's better than being #1 on Google? Being #1 <b><i>plus</i></b> having a total of four links to your business in the top 10 (first page) of google search results!

We are going to take a quick look at two google searches that were richly enhanced by 800Cart SEO - if you are curious about our claim of great results, go google the two terms 'gourmet mushrooms' and then google 'bubba antique'.

On the first search term we confirmed on the phone with 2 other 800Cart merchants that they got the same results we did: gmushrooms.com had the first 4 search returns for the search term 'gourmet mushrooms'** When we did the same search later in the day, it was down to the first 3, but a fourth was still in the top 10. Now Jim at gmushrooms.com will tell you that he did lots of other SEO work to get these great search results - fort instance, he uploaded a site map to google. But 800Cart SEO helped considerably in getting him these great search engine results.

The second search term we want you to look at is even more convincing. Assuming that you remember vaguely that you remembered you saw an antique you wanted somewhere and the only other thing you remember was that the seller or store name had 'Bubba' in it, so google 'bubba antique' When we googled this earlier today, Bubba got the first 3 (top 3) search returns** and one more further down in the top 10. This was also confirmed by at least 2 other 800Cart merchants we happened to have on the phone today.

Here is the surprising thing about 'Bubba' = Bubba does not have a web site at all! The only Bubba's Big Store resource is the 800Cart WebShowCase and there is no Bubba Antique web site at all! In addition. Bubba's is purely a demo store and does not really sell anything at all (the pages even say so) and still, Bubba ranks number 1-3 with an additional link in the top 10. Bubba has simply been indexed by the search engines longer than gmushrooms.com which explains how Bubba gets similar performance without even having a web site, and despite the fact that Bubba is just a demo store that never really sells anything (and says so).

While you are looking at the Bubba store, be sure to study it a little and discover some of the secrets of how 800Cart SEO works for you. Note how every page provides at least 6 links back to your own web site on every WebShowCase page (these links point to 800Cart.com at Bubba's, but will point to YOUR web site in your cart and WebShowCase). Note how when you hover over a picture, the complete product description is displayed (yes, Google and the other search engines do notice and index this for you). Notice the 'Suggestive Sell' displaying pictures and links to other popular products you sell.

Bubba's is intended to be humorous and entertaining as a demo store, but note that even for a fun store, the SEO is deadly serious and highly effective.

By the way, for Bubba's, we have never done any SEO work other than to allow the search engines to index Bubba's WebShowCase. Conclusion: you do not have to work hard to get maximum results by using the 800Cart SEO functions - but you do have to turn it on and let it work for you!

Knowing all the above, we think you are going to agree: the SEO built-in to your 800Cart ecommerce cart solution will build your sales very effectively if you simply turn it on and let it work for you.

** Search results can vary from minute-to-minute and are partially dependent on what you have searched for and clicked on in the past, so if you are not sing the exact link counts like we describe them above, then at is normal.

New 800Cart SEO Features Make Natural Click-Thrus Even Easier

It doesn't have to get technical at all: getting more click-thrus to your web site from natural (free) search engine search results is as easy as copy-and-paste with new features we have added to your <a href=www.800cart.com>800Cart secure professional ecommerce shopping cart.</a>

Now when you are in your 800Cart control panel and you click on 'Edit Products (where most merchants go to get their copy/paste code to paste into their web pages) there are a couple of new controls you can copy/paste that will vastly enhance SEO effectiveness for your ecommerce business.

The best part, if you are an existing merchant, is that you do NOT have to re-copy/paste all your existing controls to take advantage of these enhanced controls. Just do the copy/paste on 2 or 3 of your most popular products and 800Cart will do the rest, moving your products and business up in the search engine rankings.

Easy? Yes! Time consuming? No. Doing the copy/paste operation we recommend on only 3 of your products will only take 15 - 20 minutes of your time.

And Google and the other search engines will notice that you are serious about reaching new buyers with your products!

Pay Attention to Trends: Minor Efforts Can Vastly Increase Sales, Decrease Ad Costs

Mazny online merchants would agree with the idea that if it is raining soup, you should take your soup bowl and go stand under the rain cloud. The great thing is that staying on top of this and ebenfitting from the idea only takes about 45 minutes (or less) per week. (more on this below)

Yet many online merchants miss the chance to take advantage of what the most people are searching for and position themselves to get free visits to their web site to sell their products.

Take a look at <a href="http://www.google.com/trends/hottrends" target=_blank>Google Hot Trends at www.google.com/trends/hottrends</a> where Google reveals to you the hottest searches current on the internet - this page reveals what everyone on the web is searching for the most currently. In other words, these searches could be bringing your web site up if you have content relevant to what they are searching for.

How do you apply what Google Trends reveals to you? The idea is pretty simple. Be alert when you are scanning the trends page and look for opportunity.

Example: Let's say you sell a line of jewelry. Either from a picture you see online or on TV, or from reading the news or gossip, you learn that Britney Spears (a name that folks are searching on a lot nearly every day) favors the line of jewelry that you carry. Instantly, it should occur to you that you should mention this in your product description on your web page and in your product description in your 800Cart WebShowCase.

This is only a general example, but you get idea - when you see an 'intersection' between what lots of folks are searching for in the search engines and what you sell on your web site, you should mention the fact in your product descriptions. Google will notice and will reward you accordingly with luinks to your products!

A LOT of good things proceed from doing this with only 3 search terms from Google Trends per week.

1. Google begins to notice that you frequently have web content relevant to what lots of people are searching for, so Google begins to spider and index your web site more frequently.

2. Google will offer links to your products relevant to what the most folks are searching for - this is gold and can reduce your advertising (AdWords) expenditures significantly.

3. Over time, Google will increase your page authority which give Google (and other search engines) more leave to grant your site links more freely, and to publish those links to your site higher and higher in the search results, often on the fist page.

4. Other sites will notice your rising page authority and will link to you, further raising your page authority and making it yet easier still for your pages and products to achieve first=page natural search results.

To get the most out of this technique, you do not have to invest a lot of time each week... say only 15 minutes a day, 3 times per week. The trick is to do this faithfully, adding 3-6 hot search terms to your product pages each week every week for a period of at least 4 months. When you see how productive this practice becomes for you (how much it earns in additional sales for you) you will have no problem remembering to make it a priority to spend 10 minutes of so on it almost every day.

And if you are using our 800Cart Secure, Professional eCommerce Shopping Cart then your efforts are leveraged even further, because we are producing 4 links to your web site on each page of your WebShowCase from each of four domains which also enhances both your page rank and your page authority - gaining you even more exposure at still less cost - all you have to do is remember to click 'Edit Products in your cart control panel main menu and edit the relevant product description in your cart whenever you edit your own web page.

Again the key to this practice is to do it faithfully over a period of months, because Google is programmed to award page authority and page rank slowly. They only want to award natural search links to sites that have built up page authority over time (which is why searchers use Google: their assessment of what is relevant has a lot of authority).

To get more detail on this and other highly effective SEO techniques, visit our blog at 800Cart.blogspot.com or click on -Current 800Cart Headlines- in the main menu of your 800Cart control panel.

Effective Sales-Building in 800Cart is Easy to Manage, Overcomes Hard Times

Effective Sales-Building in 800Cart is Easy to Manage, Overcomes Hard Times

Suffering through the current economic hard times is simply something your companys sales do not have to endure. Online sales are actually up as folks hunt for more bargains and save on gasoline bills. The smart 800Cart merchants have placed themselves where the money is looking for them, and it does not take an extra penny for SEO optimization.

It only takes 15 minutes, 2 times per week, or a half an hour a week. The thing is that you have to set aside that time and just do it. The rewards, as many 800Cart merchants have demonstrated, are increased sales through increased exposure.

Then watch your sales, and market share, and mind share begin to climb online.

There is nothing technical to learn our 800Cart handles if for you entirely automatically.

Step 1: (15 minutes) - Click SEO/Suggestive Sell in the main menu of your cart control panel. Place 3 to 6 of your best-selling, favorite, or overstocked SKUs in the Always Suggest blank and check off the Show Suggestions on Shopping Pages and iMall checkboxes and save. If you have time left over after doing this, upload pictures for these 3 SKUs to your WebShowCase if you have not already.

Step 2: (15 minutes) If the 3 to 6 SKUs you designated as Aways Suggest in Step 1 above are currently assigned to a Department or Aisle in their respective Edit Products page, then make new copies of these SKUs in Add Products (suggestion: SKU 123 becomes SKU 123A when you add it again) only this time the product should have NO department or aisle assigned just leave the department and aisle blanks empty when you save the new (copy) product. Doing this will force the products to appear in Your WebShowcase when no department or aisle name is clicked and these products will also be listed when someone clicks on Featured in the WebShowCase. Spend the remaing time you have left over updating 3 or 4 of your product descriptions.

This gets you started in building your sales! And it will be effective for you. Google and MSN and the other search engines will do the heavy lifting for you and it will help build the page authority of your own home web site, which means it will climb in the search engine rankings, too.

We recommend that you make this 15 minutes, twice per week, a habit every week because we have seen the merchants who do this prosper accordingly.

For more tips on further enhancing the free SEO built-in to your 800Cart solution, visit our blog at 800Cart.blogspot.com and click on SEO in the left menu, or click on Current 800Cart Headlines in the upper right of your cart control panel for earlier articles on getting the SEO built-in to 800Cart to work for you and your businesss prosperity.

Small Online Business is One Answer to Economic Crisis

If you are like many others today, you are wondering if your job will still be there for you next month or next year... or if you will be yet another victim of the current economic downturn.

News released this week reveals that unemployment is much higher than the highest unemployment predicted for the US if the economic stimulus had *not* been passed.

That means that many workers are facing a much likelier chances of layoffs or early retirement. What do you do to prepare? Many people have found a likely answer and are starting a small online business to serve as additional income while they still have a job and to serve as a cushion or replacement income in case they do lose their current job.

And since online sales are still increasing (folks are being much more careful with the dollars they do spend and that often means shopping online to find better prices and burn less expensive gasoline to shop) an online part-time business makes perfect sense for those trying to prepare for hard times.

Why does a part-time online business make so much sense? Well to begin with, when you run a part-time online business, none for your customers know you are doing it part time (unless you tell them). Early online sales for a new business are often a little slow at first, so working part-time is not demanding and it gives you a chance to ramp-up sales before you really need the income.

It does sometimes take a little time to build sales on a new online web site and many new merchants realize this, so they are starting now in order to get the 'slow period' behind them - so that the revenue and income will be there already when they think they may need it a few months from now.

When you consider that an online business can be started for as little as $15/month borrowed from your day job and household income, the ideas makes real sense - which is why you see so many people doing it.

And the best part is this: if you never lose your job and join the ranks of the unemployed, you have still supplemented your income and added to your personal prosperity!

Social Networking is not SEO

Many folks feel that by participating in social networking they are enhancing the page rank of their own web site and getting some major SEO accomplished.

To a vanishingly small degree, they are, but much more often such activity can actually harm your site's page rank and page authority if not done properly.

Everyone has seen those posts wishing you blessings and prosperity and promising a little more added success for you if you just click on this link.

Yet the entire idea of social networking is to contribute your ideas and make them available to the reader right here, right now (where they are reading your article now) instead of inducing them to follow a link to get to the meat your really great idea.

If you find yourself composing a nice article - especially a promotional article that tries to get folks to click to visit your site, you are making a couple of serious mistakes in the social networking world.

The first mistake is that you are not sharing the meat of your idea or thought right now where the reader is reading right now. That earns you 'negative credits' in 'search space' and the collective 'mind space'.

The second mistake this activity represents is that Google and many other search engines are becoming more and more successful at detecting 'wall spam' and discounting it for search results (page rank and page authority) accordingly.

If you are interested in SEO, then you must undertake SEO activities: develop content almost daily for your own web site; make sure you have a site map available in your site root; don't put false tags in your pages; make tags relevant and different for every page.

Social Networking can successfully promote your business, but it isn't SEO as many people have been discussing in these spaces.

Cross-RSS Enhances Viral Marketing

We've blogged <a href=http://sta.rtup.biz/profiles/blogs/add-true-value-and-go-viral>elsewhere</a> about gadget marketing and adding true value to your blog and knowledge-sharing operations.

Another way to share the genuinely valuable knowledge you possess is to create RSS feeds among the different places where you blog in order that your knowledge will be shared more widely and automatically. When you place a blog post in one resource, make sure it's RSS feed is being shared on other resources where you have a presence!
